Anmol Moti – Event conducted by I Love My City

On 6th December 2011, I Love My City conducted Road Safety Awareness Program for the students of Modern Vidya Niketan Aravali. The program was named “Anmol Moti”.

Chief Guest of the program was Joint Commissioner Police Mr.Anil Kumar Rao.

The event was conducted in association with Hero Moto Corp Ltd & Sehgal Automobiles Faridabad. The program started with videos of real accidents and statistics showing number of lives lost every hour in our country.

The’ nukkad Natak “  one of the signature item of ILMC  ‘Sonu bhi ban sakta the bada aadmi was  based on  a story of a family where father committed to  his son Sonu that he will  get  him  a bike if he scores  90% in class XII. The child scores 90% but now father is afraid to buy him the bike because of road conditions and traffic on the road. But Sonu kept insisting and his father finally agreed. Sonu did stunts on his bike and one day he met with an accident and became paralyzed below the neck. The natak clearly drove home the message that roads are no playgrounds and can be very harsh if you are careless. The natak was performed by ILMC volunteers, Deepak Tyagi, Pradip Sammi, Amarjeet bains, Angad & Manbir

Mr. Pankaj Mahajan whose young son died in a road accident recently shared his grief that what the pain the parents have to undergo after the death of their young ones.

Joint Commissioner of Police Mr. Anil Kumar Rao while addressing the students reiterated that they had to be conscious about their own safety by wearing a helmet or a seat belt. He interacted with children who were about 600 in numbers and motivated them to address their problems. He also urged them to be very careful while crossing the road as pedestrians are the major sufferers on the road.

Mrs. Manbir Kaur – CEO of I Love My City (ILMC) in her address said that the children are future stars of the city & the country and their slight negligence can cause lot of pain and anguish

PP Singh Founder ILMC said that iPod had head phones has become the latest trend of the teenagers today but they are the lethal as sound of iPod cut them from outer world. He said that boys and girls should wear the helmets and should make that a fashion statement of today.

Hero Moto Corp Mr. Deepak Singh shared company’s program details of ‘Ride Safe’ and gave tips on defensive driving.

Large number of ILMC volunteers and office bearers VK Bhanot, Om Madaan Ashok Ratra, Lalit Mukhija, and Kulwant Singh were present to support the cause.

I Love My City is thankful MVN Aravali school management for this initiative.

The ‘Anmol Moti‘ event was a great success and was appreciated by all including The MVN Aravali Management and staff and even Joint Commissioner Mr. Anil Rao commended on the success of the of the event.

I Love My City in Association Hero Moto Corp and Faridabad Police will be hosting a Road Safety Awareness Event in MODERN VIDYA NIKETAN –  ARAVALI and the name given to the event is “Anmol Moti“.

The event date 6th December 2011
Time : 08:45 AM to 09:45 AM
Venue: Modern Vidya Niketan, Aravali – Faridabad

Event will start with

a.    Video clippings of various road intersections near schools and colleges, where drivers are not following traffic rules. Video will highlight those anomalies and interactive discussions on the video.

b.    Presentation on Road Safety.

c.    Nukkad Natak “ Sonu bhi ban sakta tha bada aadmi”

d.    Introduction of people who survived road accidents to narrate their real life incidents

e.    Introduction of parent who lost their young children in road accidents and they narrate their lives after losing their children in road accidents.

f.     Senior Police official/ Joint Commissioner of Faridabad Police Anil Kumar Rao will communicate with children explaining road safety and traffic rules.

g.    Event will end with distribution of pamphlets to the students with a message for their parents for safe driving.

We have to make 2-3 teams and take responsibility of the tasks to be completed. We need to practice for smooth flow of the event. I will be send you details of the meeting later today and then we can finalize the detailing of the event.

Kallu bhi ban sakta tha bada aadmi

Kallu, a class XII student, raises high hopes in the mind of his parents and friends when he secures 95% marks in his board exams. In this elation and excitement he leaves home to buy sweets. He drives the motor bike though he is under age and that also without wearing his helmet. Result, he dies in an accident crashing the hopes of parents and his own dreams of becoming a “bada aadmi”. This was the “Nukkad Natak” based on the theme “jaan hai to jahan hai” conducted by the volunteers of “I Love My City”.  The volunteers were Deepak Tyagi as Changu, Pardeep Sammi as Mangu and Rajat as Gangoo, Harkaran as Pappu &Manbir as mother of Kallu.

I Love My City is a social awareness organization which has been conducting various road safety events and nukkad nataks for the last one & half years with
the motto “Life is precious, drive safely” The event was conducted at Maharani Paint’s premises in sector-24 Faridabad.Factory owner Mr. Vipen Bhatia said that, “My employees are my assets and theirsafety is important not only in the factory premises but also on road” He felt that such events does create an awareness in the minds of workers and staff members and can go long way in saving lives. General Manager HR Mr.SK Sukhija assured that he would further arrange for similar events in other Maharani Paints factories to spread this noble message. SHO – Traffic Mr. Atma Ram who was present on the occasion, in his address to all the workers and the staff which were in 300+ numbers) said  “There can be no compromise in following traffic rules and please remember that someone is waiting for you at home. He advised the audience to leave home for work with a calm mind and well before time and these two factors can avoid many accidents on the road”.
I Love My City founder Mr. PP Singh retriated the fact that  following traffic rules is not about avoiding police challans but it save your life as well as that of others. CEO of I Love My City Mrs. Manbir Kaur not only actively participated in the Nukkad Natak but also urged all the wives, mothers, sisters & daughters present there that children below the age of 18 should not be allowed to drive vehicles on the road as they all are going to effected when some miss happening is borne by these children. One of the volunteer Mr Manoj Kumar Vinod shared his life threatening accident in which he survived because he was wearing ISI marked helmet.
The event concluded with road safety oath being administered by Mr. Ashok Ratra to all present on the occasion and pasting of reflective stickers on bicycles.
Also presents on the occasion were Mr. Surinder Singh, Mr.OP Madaan, Mr. Naveet Gumber, Mr.Masroor Khan, Mr. Vikas Kalra, Mr.Manoj Gautam, Ms.Geetika & Master Manak.

Nukad Natak

Education is our birth right echoed the volunteers of I Love My City….

I Love My City (ILMC) organized an event at a school called ‘Paathshala’ in the slum area near Old Faridabad Railway Station. The Paathshala is an endeavor by the young boys, Sanjeev, Vinay, Prince and Ankit.

A group of friends Vinay, Sanjeev, Prince & Ankur started this school last year. They were quite moved when they witnessed small children begging at the railway station and came up the illiterate of teaching these children. Slowly the word spread and more children joined in. Now the school has more than 50 children and has even hired two full time teachers. Vinay said that it gave him immense pleasure to see these children studying enthusiastically; there are few bright kids among these children who have learned to do four digit multiplication sums.

I Love My City Organized a small play called ‘Nukad Natak’ in their Pathshala based on the theme “Padhai hi aisi shidi hai jo garibi sai nikal sakti hai” (Education is the only way out of poverty and misery).  It was performed by the Volunteers of ILMC, it was the story of a young boy (Kallu) who wanted study but his mother forced him to polish shoes on the streets and how she realizes the importance of education and that educating her child is not an expense but an investment. The volunteers were Deepak Tyagi, Pradeep Sammi, Manbir Kaur, Amarjeet Bains, Gurpreet, and Angad.

The Founder of ILMC Mr. P P Singh also spoke about the importance of keeping small family and ensuring that their children should be nurtured and sent to school to have a secure future. He also invited two people, Keval (a vegetable seller) and Sumitra (a house maid) to the event. He referred to them as the real life heroes of the society as they worked very hard every day so that their children can go to a good school. Keval also spoke to the people about the importance of education, he said, “We are poor because our thinking is poor, if we educate our children they will grow up to become respectful officers, when our we progress the society will progress and will the country progress”.  Daughter of maid who is studying in class 6^th has very clear thoughts that she wanted to become a teacher and not let her mother to work as a house maid.

At the event ILMC distributed school bags, books and stationery to all the children of the pathshala, Mrs. Manbir Kaur, CEO of ILMC said that the motive of this event was to convey the importance of education to the parents and bringing smile to the students of patshala.

Also present key office bearer of ILMC, Mr.VK Bhanot- Secretary, Mr. Ashok Ratra, Mr. Kulwant Singh, Om Prakash, Mr.Naveet Gumber, Rajat & Sonia Luthra, Harmeet Arora and Ashish Kaul.

Owner Mr.SS Banga spearheaded the event and the concept of My Employee – I Care “Road Safety” is well accepted by him. It was his initiative to conduct theevent at their plant to bring road safety awareness to their work force which is roughly 3000 nos across 8 sites.

Approximately 200 workmen, supervisors and managers attended the event. Eventkick started with Mrs. Harmeet  HR Manager of Victora Tool giving outline of the event and introducing I Love My City to them and explaining about their work on road safety in the city.

Plant Manager Mr Bhatia told his work force that how important they are to the organisation and their well being. Working safely inside the factory as well as travelling safely on the road while coming to the factory or while going back home. Road safety is very critical.

Mr. PP Singh Founder I Love My City explained to the work force that the most vulnerable road users are either pedestrian or cyclists and every second person killed or injured on the road is one of them. He also explained that by taking simple safety awareness actions for motor cycle or scooters like wearing ISI quality helmets, buckle up the helmet while riding the vehicle can protect from serious injuries. For cyclists to respect the road rules, how to take right turn on the road, putting proper reflectors at rear mudguard. These basic awareness can safe lives. Also he requested to share this meeting with their family and friends to further spread the awareness.

ACP Mr. RK Shama, told the workforce to carry proper documents as one of the major reasons of accidents are people running away from police because of incomplete documents. He also told to help the injured if you find one and police will reward for your contribution in saving that life. The members of I Love My City, Ashok Ratra, Dhir Singh shared their life threatening incidents and survived as they were wearing helmets at the time of accident.

Road Safety oath was taken by I Love My City Members Deepti Talwar and Ashok Ratra and complete work force of Victora Tool Engineers.

Event was concluded by putting reflective stickers to the bicycles.
